Incorporated on July 19, 2021, as SPH Media Trust (SMT) and spun off from Singapore Press Holdings as a company limited by guarantee, it operates as a mass media company. Founded in 1984, the company employs approximately 2,530 individuals and functions as a tier 1 media tech buyer. SPH Media owns several major newspapers in Singapore, including the English-language The Straits Times and The Business Times, Chinese-language Lianhe Zaobao and Shin Min Daily News, Malay-language Berita Harian, and the Tamil Murasu. Additionally, the company publishes magazines and operates five radio stations.
