Stormers Rugby

Stormers Rugby, a privately owned entity based in South Africa, was founded in 1883 and employs approximately 30 individuals. The organization primarily offers sports tickets, merchandise, and sponsorship for its professional rugby union team, the Stormers, also known for sponsorship reasons as the DHL Stormers. This team, based in Cape Town in the Western Cape, competes in the United Rugby Championship, a trans-hemispheric competition that also involves sides from Ireland, Italy, Scotland, and Wales, and in the domestic Currie Cup competition as the Stormers XXIII. Prior to 2020, the team competed in the Super Rugby competition. Stormers Rugby has won one major international championship, the 2021-22 United Rugby Championship, and seven South African 'conference' titles, which include five in the South African Conference of Super Rugby and two in the URC equivalent, the South African Shield. The organization has also won the Currie Cup competition a record 34 times when operating under the name Western Province.
