Summit Communications, a privately owned company based in Bangladesh, was founded in 2010 and employs approximately 710 individuals. The company functions as an end-to-end infrastructure support provider, operating a Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network and holding Gateway licenses.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against seven individuals, including Summit Communications Limited chairman Mohammad Farid Khan and former Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission chairman engineer Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, for allegedly evading Tk 10 crore in government revenue. A second case was also filed on the same day by the ACC’s Integrated District Office Dhaka-1, Assistant Director Md Nasrullah Hossain prosecuting seven people, including Mohammad Farid Khan and Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, for allegedly evading over Tk 102.45 million in revenue. On August 26, Summit Communications Limited issued a statement refuting a TBS report alleging the company's involvement in a Tk 10 crore tax evasion case, stating that it had not received any notice from the ACC regarding any investigation or case.
