On July 14, 2026, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) upheld a Tk 3 crore administrative fine against Summit Communications Ltd, concluding the country’s largest telecom infrastructure operator engaged in discriminatory bandwidth pricing. The regulator decided to issue a formal notice instructing Summit to deposit the penalty within 10 working days. This follows an agreement on November 25, 2025, when EDOTCO Bangladesh partnered with Summit Communications Limited by entering into a Space and Power Lease Agreement, marking a renewed phase of collaboration between the two organizations to strengthen Bangladesh’s telecommunications backbone.
