Summit Communications Limited (SCL), a privately owned Bangladeshi company founded in 2010, provides telecommunications infrastructure support. Employing 710 people, SCL holds nationwide telecommunication transmission network and gateway licenses, enabling it to offer end-to-end infrastructure services.
On Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed a case against seven individuals, including Summit Communications Limited chairman Mohammad Farid Khan and former Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission chairman engineer Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, for allegedly evading Tk 10 crore in government revenue. A second case was also filed on the same day by the ACC’s Integrated District Office Dhaka-1, Assistant Director Md Nasrullah Hossain prosecuting seven people, including Mohammad Farid Khan and Md Mohiuddin Ahmed, for allegedly evading over Tk 102.45 million in revenue. On August 26, Summit Communications Limited issued a statement refuting a TBS report alleging the company's involvement in a Tk 10 crore tax evasion case, stating that it had not received any notice from the ACC regarding any investigation or case.
