The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) upheld a Tk 3 crore administrative fine on Summit Communications Ltd on July 14, 2026, concluding that the country’s largest telecom infrastructure operator engaged in discriminatory bandwidth pricing. The BTRC has since issued a formal notice instructing Summit to deposit the penalty with the regulator’s Finance Accounts and Revenue Division within 10 working days. Previously, on November 25, 2025, EDOTCO Bangladesh entered a Space and Power Lease Agreement with Summit Communications Limited, marking a renewed phase of collaboration between the two organizations involved in strengthening Bangladesh’s telecommunications backbone.
