On September 10th, 2024, Supponor, recently acquired by TGI Sport, deployed its virtual advertising (VA) technology for the first time for the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF) during a UEFA Nations League match between Ireland and Greece in Dublin. A November 12th, 2024, decision by the Unified Patent Court (UPC) Court of Appeal in the case of AIM Sport Vision AG versus Supponor allows for the withdrawal of an opt-out in cases where national proceedings began before the UPC became operational. This decision overturned a previous Helsinki Local Division ruling concerning the withdrawal of an opt-out under Article 83(4) of the UPC Agreement.
