Sydney FC re-signed Panama international Riley Cohn for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season on August 21, bringing back last season's Golden Boot winner who topped the club's scoring charts. Previously, on August 18, Captain Nat Tobin, the club's most decorated A-League Women's player with four Championship and three Premiership titles, returned for the 2026-27 season after a year away for childbirth. On August 16, the club boosted its attacking stocks by securing Nigerian forward Oriola Sunday on a season-long loan deal from Japanese second division club RB Omiya; Sunday could make his debut in an Australia Cup quarter-final. Earlier, on August 13, Sydney FC signed American forward Faith Webber from NWSL club Denver Summit FC for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season, following her collegiate career where she finished as the leading goalscorer in NCAA Division I in 2025. This followed comments on August 11 from Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo, who indicated the club remained active in the transfer market, having already recruited academy graduate Jake Holman and striker Gabriel Popovic from fellow A-League outfit Perth Glory.
