On June 23, 2026, Bayswater City will host Sydney FC in the Round of 32 of the Hahn Australia Cup at Frank Drago Reserve. Bayswater City are the 2025 NPL champions, while Sydney FC are five-time A-League grand final winners. Previously, on June 15, Mackenzie Hawkesby departed Sydney FC after seven seasons with the club, where she holds the fourth spot on the all-time appearance list for the women’s side. Earlier in June, Sydney FC made player movements; on June 12, the club signed 22-year-old striker Gabriel Popovic on a two-year contract. Popovic joins from fellow A-League side Perth Glory, where he made nine appearances and scored two goals during the 2025-26 campaign. This followed the June 10 announcement that 23-year-old defender Jordan Courtney-Perkins secured a new two-year contract, extending his tenure with Sydney FC to five years after joining from Polish side Raków Częstochowa in 2023.
