The company operates across four distinct business lines within the telecom sector: Telecel Mobile, which owns and operates several mobile operators in Africa; Telecel Global, which offers services to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) such as VOICE, SMS, DATA, IPTV, international traffic, and Value Added Services (VAS); Telecel Play Application, offering quadruple play services with an African identity; and the Africa Startup initiative program, which targets and supports innovative African-related startups.
On October 2, 2026, Ghana cancelled the exclusive wholesale 5G concession previously awarded to Next Gen InfraCo (NGIC), a consortium linked to Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries, granting Telecel Group a full 5G license and spectrum for independent deployment, with Telecel targeting its 5G rollout by December 2026. Previously, Telecel Group invested $50,000 to expand access to digital and soft skills development for over 5,000 junior high school students in Ghana, an initiative reported on August 10 and August 12. This investment followed an announcement on July 28 regarding Telecel Group’s record-breaking investment in Ghana’s digital infrastructure in 2026, aimed at solidifying its position as its largest and fastest-growing market in Africa.
