Texas Advanced Computing Center, also known as TACC, a state-owned entity headquartered in the US, was founded in 2001 and operates with approximately 220 employees. The center functions as a major national resource based at the University of Texas at Austin, dedicated to accelerating scientific discovery through powerful computing resources. TACC develops and operates supercomputers, making them available to researchers across the United States, often through National Science Foundation (NSF) allocations, to support large-scale modeling, simulation, and data analysis across various scientific disciplines. In addition to computational capacity, TACC provides supplementary services including high-capacity data storage, which handles petabytes of scientific data, advanced scientific visualization tools, and expert consulting to assist researchers in optimizing their code and maximizing system utility.
