Established in 1982 by Kim and Paula Gardner, it operates as a restaurant and pub, initially opening due to a perceived lack of such establishments in Hollywood. The company employs approximately 20 individuals. Functioning as a restaurant, it first opened at 2100 Laurel Canyon Blvd before relocating to 6530 Sunset Blvd. Following Kim Gardner's passing in 2001, The Cat and Fiddle Restaurant & Pub has continued to be family-run, with operations managed by mother-daughter team Paula and Ashlee Gardner, and assistance from Eva Gardner.
