This development follows the extension of ThinKom Solutions' U.S. military contract on February 12, aimed at demonstrating phased-array portable ground stations as the Pentagon evaluates deployable satellite communications systems to replace traditional parabolic dishes. Earlier, on February 8, the company secured a follow-on contract with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), valued at a combined $3.9 million, to supply portable ground stations for tactical resilient connectivity without fixed infrastructure. Prior to these military contracts, on February 1, ThinKom Solutions negotiated an expansion and early renewal flex/industrial lease for over 128,000 square feet within Oceangate Business Park in Hawthorne, California. In January, specifically on January 13, ThinKom Solutions received a $1.9 million Direct-to-Phase II (D2P2) SBIR contract from SpaceWERX to provide a containerized transportable phased array ground entry point (GEP), intended to enable redundant and seamless communications and operations for the Department of the Air Force.
