Transworld Associates, a privately owned Pakistani company founded in 2006, is a joint venture between Orastar Limited and the OMZEST Group. Employing 510 people, it operates in the technology, information, and internet sectors. Transworld is unique in Pakistan's private sector for its exclusive ownership of a 1,300 km submarine fiber optic cable system (TW1) and its membership in the SEA-ME-WE 5 consortium (a 20,000 km system). This infrastructure, along with capacity on other regional cables, allows Transworld to provide internet bandwidth to major Pakistani mobile operators, ISPs, corporations, and SMEs. The company boasts peering arrangements with Tier-1 operators in the Middle East, Europe, the US, and Far East, and points of presence in Germany, France, and Singapore, aiming to minimize latency for its customers. Direct connections to content providers such as Google, Facebook, and Netflix are also established.
