True Lens Services, also known as TLS, a privately owned company headquartered in the UK, was founded in 2001 and employs approximately 20 individuals. The company specializes in the design, customization, manufacturing, servicing, and repair of cinema and broadcast lenses.
On September 20, 2026, True Lens Services (TLS) adopted TaeguTec's TTA101-grade VCGT 110304 FL turning insert, following a trial that addressed hand-polishing bottlenecks in the production of its aluminum camera lens housings, a process previously adding time and labor. Earlier, on September 3, 2026, TLS launched its new rehoused Nikon AI/AI-S cinema lens series, bringing the distinctive optical character of Nikon's vintage lenses into a purpose-built cinema housing designed for modern productions. Previously, on August 21, 2026, the company introduced two additions to its lens range: the Mamiya 645 200mm and the Petzval 35mm. This followed an August 13, 2026, announcement that TLS established a network of trusted distributors worldwide, providing filmmakers, cinematographers, and rental houses the opportunity to access its rehoused lenses without traveling to the UK.
