Twise, a privately owned French company founded in 2018, employs approximately 20 people. Its primary business is the design and development of security solutions for the digital pay-TV industry. This focuses mainly on Conditional Access Modules (CAMs) compatible with CI Plus standards, offered in USB and PCMCIA formats. As of 2023, the company's operations center on computer and electronics manufacturing related to these security products.
On June 2025, Media Broadcast GmbH, Irdeto, and Twise collaborated to launch a new freenet TV USB2.0 stick in Germany. This miniature device simplifies digital terrestrial television (DTT) reception using CI Plus 2.0 technology. A partnership between Rurutek and Twise was announced on September 9th, 2025, to deploy USB Conditional Access Modules (USB CAMs) in India. Another announcement regarding this India-based deployment of USB CAMs was made, specifying that Rurutek and Twise formed a strategic partnership. The freenet TV USB2.0 stick offers a USB connection, eliminating the need for a traditional conditional access module.
