Court filings, submitted as part of a motion to dismiss, described Rodriguez’s role in a Perry-produced film as minimal. On April 9, Perry joined the Broadway producing team for August Wilson’s ‘Joe Turner’s Come and Gone’ as a co-producer alongside Kandi Burruss for the revival directed by Debbie Allen. Earlier, on March 26, Perry advised filmmaker Ryan Coogler on the importance of ownership in Hollywood deals, emphasizing power moves over upfront paychecks.
