The U.S. Coast Guard proposed a new two-way shipping route along Alaska's northern coast to improve safety and efficiency for Arctic shipping. On an unspecified date, a $49.6 million, five-year contract was awarded to Stealth Solutions Inc. to modernize the Mariner Credentialing Program (MCP), replacing manual processes with an automated system called NAVITA™. This system will offer online applications, mariner profiles, and self-service tools. A separate agreement, also worth up to $49.6 million, was reached with Stealth Solutions to modernize the MCP, including developing new IT systems to streamline the merchant mariner credentialing process.
