Union of Mixed Martial Arts of Russia

Union of Mixed Martial Arts of Russia, a privately owned entity headquartered in Russia, was founded in 2012. It functions as an all-Russian public organization and sports federation focused on the popularization and development of mixed martial arts as a sport, serving as the main regulator for MMA in the Russian Federation. In its initial year, it organized the national mixed martial arts championship in Chekhov, Moscow Oblast, joined the World Mixed Martial Arts Association (WMMAA) as a permanent member, and hosted the European mixed martial arts Championship in St. Petersburg under WMMAA auspices. As of 2021, the organization incorporated 80 accredited regional federations, oversees national championships and cups, forms Russian national teams for World and European championships, represents Russia in the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), and provides refereeing and organizational support for professional MMA tournaments in Russia, including those by Russian and international promoters like UFC.
