On August 5, 2026, Universal Audio announced two vintage reverbs as native plug-ins, including the UAD EMT 140 Classic Plate Reverberator. This recreation of the first hardware plate reverb aims to emulate sounds heard on iconic recordings. The company had previously released native versions of its UAD EMT 140 Classic Plate Reverberator and EMT 250 Classic Electronic Reverb, allowing them to run on macOS and Windows in any digital audio workstation without requiring Apollo or UAD hardware.
