Universal Beijing Resort, a privately owned entertainment provider headquartered in China, is minority-owned by NBCUniversal, a division of Comcast (30%), and majority-owned by Beijing Shouhuan Cultural Tourism Investment (70%), a Chinese state-owned enterprise. Founded in 2021, and employing approximately 1,580 individuals, the resort complex, which began invite-only test operations on September 1, 2021, and full operation on September 20, 2021, functions as a theme park and entertainment resort complex based in Beijing.
Universal Beijing Resort plans to introduce two major attractions, Asia's first indoor Fast & Furious themed ride and a new nighttime entertainment show at the Hollywood Lagoon, as part of its ongoing strategy to expand its content and enhance the park's overall playability. The resort highlighted these plans on October 1, 2026, following a fifth-anniversary celebration parade held on September 16. Previously, on September 22, the resort detailed the new attractions, noting the indoor Fast & Furious experience is custom-engineered for Beijing, translating the global blockbuster franchise’s signature high-speed street chases into a technologically advanced immersive ride environment. This announcement coincided with the park marking its fifth anniversary. Earlier, on September 18, the resort confirmed it would build these two new attractions as it celebrated its fifth anniversary, and on September 17, stated it would launch the "Nighttime Spectacular at the Lagoon" show and the Fast & Furious ride on the occasion of its upcoming fifth anniversary to enrich themed entertainment content and evening experiences.
