Founded in 2021, and employing approximately 1,580 individuals, the resort complex, which began invite-only test operations on September 1, 2021, and full operation on September 20, 2021, functions as a theme park and entertainment resort complex based in Beijing.
On February 14, 2026, Universal Beijing Resort announced its 2026 Chinese New Year celebrations and a year-long lineup of activities for its upcoming fifth anniversary, with a grand Chinese New Year seasonal event scheduled to begin in January. This follows the resort's official announcement on January 16, 2026, that it would celebrate its fifth anniversary in 2026, marking a significant milestone since its opening in 2021.
