University of Houston-Downtown, also known as UHD, is a publicly owned institution headquartered in the US. Founded in 1974, it operates with approximately 2220 employees. The university functions as a public university in Houston, Texas, United States, with a campus spanning 40 acres (0.16 km2) in Downtown Houston and a satellite location, UHD–Northwest, inside Lone Star College–University Park. It is one of three institutions in the University of Houston System.
