The University of Mississippi, also known as Ole Miss, is a state-owned institution headquartered in the US. Previously, on August 14, 2026, Ole Miss finalized a multi-year agreement with Progressive Insurance for an on-field logo sponsorship at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for the 2026-27 football season. On July 30, 2026, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) donated $50,000 to the university to help restore trees on its Oxford campus, an area that lost approximately 11% of its tree canopy due to Winter Storm Fern earlier in the year, including in The Grove. Earlier on July 30, 2026, the University of Mississippi filed lawsuits against former football players Princewill Umanmielen and Devin Harper, who transferred to LSU, alleging they failed to compensate the school as required by revenue-sharing agreements signed in early January. Also on July 30, 2026, the university partnered with Southern Sky Brands to launch a CBD sleep study, conducted through its National Center for Cannabis Research and Education, to evaluate the effects of cannabidiol on sleep quality in adults.
