University of Miyazaki, a state-owned institution headquartered in Japan, was established in 2003 through the merger of Miyazaki University and Miyazaki Medical College, and currently operates with approximately 260 employees. Operating under the slogan "Look at the World, Start with the Community," the university comprises five undergraduate faculties—Agriculture, Education, Engineering, Medicine, and Regional Innovation—along with seven graduate schools. It is distinguished by its interdisciplinary research structure, notably housing Japan’s first integrated graduate schools for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, as well as Agriculture and Engineering. The university serves approximately 5,500 students across its Kibana and Kiyotake campuses, focusing its primary research output on life sciences, environmental sustainability, food security, and energy science. Additionally, it maintains international partnerships, particularly in the ASEAN region, through initiatives like its Bangkok office and the Miyazaki-Bangladesh IT engineer recruitment model.
