The company is owned by the Institución Internacional SEK, led by businessman Jorge Segovia, and plays its home matches at the Estadio Santa Laura-Universidad SEK, also known as "La Catedral." Maintaining cultural ties to the Spanish community in Chile, Union Espanola has secured multiple league titles in the Chilean Primera División and reached the final of the Copa Libertadores in 1975.
