US Army, a state-owned entity headquartered in the US, was founded in 1775 and comprises approximately 432,000 employees. The US Army functions as the primary land warfare service branch of the United States Armed Forces, responsible for conducting land-based military operations and providing defense services.
The U.S. Army recently awarded CodeMettle the first option year of its five-year Indefinite Quantity Indefinite Delivery (IDIQ) contract on August 11, 2026. CodeMettle's INB2 software provides automated command and control for the Army's next-generation edge network orchestration solution. Previously, on July 30, 2026, the Army accepted Ti Defense's Military Virtual Trainer (MVT) into its Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) Marketplace. The MVT will serve as a bridging capability to replace the aging EST II system, offering marksmanship, use of force, and joint fires training. On the same day, VirTra Inc. gained acceptance into the U.S. Army Marketplace for commercial off-the-shelf solutions across three key capability areas: Weapons Skills Development, Joint Fires Training, and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
