Vocus is a privately owned company headquartered in Australia, with approximately 1560 employees. The company specializes in telecoms, functioning as an Australian specialist fibre and network solutions provider.
On August 21, Vocus appointed Ben Chan as its chief AI officer and managing director of consumer, tasking him with leading the telco's consumer business and its company-wide AI strategy and center of excellence. Chan joins Vocus from Quantium, a firm specializing in converting consumer data into intelligence and insights. Earlier in August, Vocus detailed its strategy to extend its private path for cloud traffic, which has carried Starlink traffic into customer networks without touching the public internet since June 2025, a move designed to enhance security against cyber threats. In late July, Dodo, a brand under Vocus, received recognition as Australia’s Internet Provider of the Year for the second consecutive year at the 2026 WhistleOut Awards. Previously, on July 14, Vocus highlighted quick wins achieved through its implementation of a legal operating system, positioning itself as a nimble challenger in the industry that provides specialist fibre services across Australia with approximately 1500 employees.
