WCNY, in partnership with WSKG, will host the Porchfest Screening & Block Party on September 17 at the State Theatre of Ithaca. Previously, on July 24, WCNY announced its 12th annual Taste of Fame culinary fundraiser, set for November 13, featuring chef Marcus Samuelsson at Drumlins Country Club in Syracuse. Earlier, on May 14, the organization secured a third-year grant from Empire State Development to continue its WCNY Entertainment Academy, which provides workforce development programming for the film and television industries. This followed WCNY's inaugural "Mission: Honor Our Heroes" event on April 7, where it recognized Michael Haynie, Rear Admiral John Paddock, and Colonel Bill Smullen for their service and impact.
