WCNY, in partnership with WSKG, announced on August 17, 2026, it will host the Porchfest Screening & Block Party on September 17 at the State Theatre of Ithaca to celebrate Ithaca’s Porchfest. Previously, on July 24, WCNY announced its 12th annual Taste of Fame culinary fundraiser would take place on November 13 at Drumlins Country Club, featuring chef Marcus Samuelsson. This followed a June 8 fundraiser hosted by Madison County Distillery, which supported WCNY’s ‘Honor Flight Syracuse’ coverage. Earlier, on May 14, WCNY Entertainment Academy secured a third-year grant from Empire State Development, continuing its workforce development programming for the film and television production industries. On April 7, WCNY hosted its inaugural “Mission: Honor Our Heroes” event, recognizing Michael Haynie, Rear Admiral John Paddock, and Colonel Bill Smullen for their distinguished service and impact.
