On June 23, 2026, the transfer of WPSU to Philadelphia-based WHYY neared completion, with the deal expected to finalize by June 30. This follows Penn State's decision over nine months prior to end its decades-long ownership of WPSU and the board of trustees' fall approval to shut down the station by the same June 30 deadline. Previously, on June 16, 2026, WHYY premiered "Good Neighbor Club," a new children's series designed to help children understand their surroundings, analyze everyday problems, and take action to create positive change within their communities.
