World Press Photo Foundation is a non-profit organization headquartered in the Netherlands. Founded in 1955, it operates with approximately 150 employees, with its main activity revolving around photography. The organization specializes in connecting photojournalists, documentary photographers, and their audiences through trustworthy storytelling.
On January 16, 2026, World Press Photo announced it would present "Becoming Climate," an exhibition featuring over 100 images from its archive depicting 21st-century climate stories, aiming to inspire collective climate awareness and action. The exhibition is set to premiere in Pinerolo, Italy, in February. Previously, on January 15, CAIXA Cultural Salvador promoted a free workshop titled "Imaginary Disputes: Photography Visual Narratives and Counter-Visuality in the Global South," led by educator Maíra C. The workshop, held during the World Press Photo 2025 international exhibition, deepened the dialogue on photography, power, and representation. This follows the World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 embarking on its worldwide tour, announced on December 6, 2025, which showcases the results of the 68th annual World Press Photo Contest, highlighting photojournalism and documentary photography from the past year.
