Yoshimoto, also known as Yoshimoto Broad Entertainment, is a privately owned company headquartered in Japan. Founded in 1912, employing approximately 90 individuals, the company functions as an entertainment and media production entity.
Banijay Entertainment on February 23, 2026, partnered with Yoshimoto, Japan’s largest entertainment group, to acquire global format rights for the comedic challenge spectacle "YOU LAUGH YOU LOSE." Banijay will now lead adaptations across its 23 territories, building on Yoshimoto’s creation of "LOL: Last One Laughing." Previously, on January 28, Yoshimoto announced a collaboration event with SoftBank, scheduled for February 7 and 8, 2026. Earlier, on December 22, 2025, the company publicized its New Year Yoshimoto Comedy Festival, held on January 24 and 25, 2026, at Multimedia Hakata. This followed Yoshimoto’s December 10 announcement of official merchandise for its "DAIBAKUSHOW 2025" event, held on December 30 at Tokyo Garden Theater, featuring items such as a "cathode-ray tube T-shirt" and "menko" that blend nostalgia and novelty.
