Zacu Entertainment

Zacu Entertainment, a privately owned company headquartered in Rwanda and a subsidiary of Canal+ Group (a subsidiary of Vivendi), was founded in 2017 and operates with approximately 30 employees. The company specializes in entertainment content rights, functioning as a vertically integrated content studio, independent film and television production house, and multimedia intellectual property incubator. It initially emerged to address a structural gap in East African media by offering a dedicated commercial engine for Kinyarwanda-language cinema and digital distribution. Following a corporate consolidation in July 2022, the studio was fully acquired by Canal+ Group, transforming it into a core creative center for the network's African operations and leading to the launch of ZACU TV, which is the fourth specialized local-language fiction channel published by Canal+ in sub-Saharan Africa. The studio operates as an industrial catalyst for the Rwandan audiovisual ecosystem, owning a catalog of over 800 hours of localized short and feature films across diverse genres, alongside a broadcasting history that has contributed over 1,000 episodes to the national network, Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA). Its media repository includes broadcast institutions and series such as Seburikoko, City Maid, Indoto, Ejo si Kera, The Bishop's Family, Ishusho ya Papa, and Yuhi Amuli's feature film Uwera.
