Aire Networks is a privately owned company headquartered in Spain. Founded in 2002, the company operates with approximately 200 employees and reported $27.4M in revenue as of 2023. Aire Networks is also recognized as a tier 2 media tech buyer. Functioning as a Spanish provider of telecommunications services, its offerings include digital signage and professional display solutions.
Telefonica renewed its wholesale network provider agreement with Aire Networks for a further three years on May 28, 2026. This agreement, cited by Expansion from unnamed sources, enables Telefonica to retain revenue from approximately 500,000 mobile lines on its network from Aire, which is now owned by French private equity firm Ardian. Previously, on March 30, 2026, the Spanish communications and markets regulator CNMC authorized Aire Networks, alongside MasOrange, to terminate fibre services to MVNO Silbo Telecom due to non-payment, after the latter failed to respond to its requests. This followed the appointment of Javier Polo as Aire Networks' new chief executive in June 2025. Polo, who had served on Aire's board since 2023, replaced founder Raul Aledo, who became non-executive chairman. Polo's mandate includes consolidating the company's position in the wholesale market and accelerating its growth in unified communications and cloud services.
