The company specializes in semiconductor manufacturing, providing high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies.
On July 10, 2026, Rackspace Technology announced plans for an AMD-backed GPU buildout targeting enterprise AI, which RBC Capital Markets projects could scale into a meaningful revenue stream by 2028. Earlier the same day, Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest released an analysis suggesting Advanced Micro Devices chips "can already be more performant than Nvidia chips" per dollar on select workloads, positioning AMD to challenge Nvidia's long-standing dominance in the AI accelerator market. Also on July 10, the first pre-built PCs featuring AMD's recently announced Ryzen 7 4700LE processor, based on 2019 architecture, appeared in retail, indicating the company's strategy to revive older technology for its OEM partners. This followed an announcement earlier on July 10 that AMD and digital infrastructure provider 5C partnered to construct "gigascale AI campuses," deploying AMD's Helios platform in large AI training facilities designed for high-density compute workloads. Concurrently, AMD's next-generation Zen 6 server CPUs are launching this month, with expectations for a desktop release later this year.
