Angenieux, founded in 1935 and headquartered in France, is a privately owned company specializing in the manufacturing of optics cinema lenses for the broadcast and film industries, as well as infrared goggles and high-precision modules. The company has a workforce of approximately 210 employees and generates annual revenues of less than $50 million as of 2022. Angenieux is a subsidiary of Thales.
Angenieux lenses are available for purchase in the US with special Summer financing conditions. Cinematographer Sofia Urwitz used Angenieux Optimo Primes and IOPs to shoot the "No Lo Veo Claro" video clip for Marina Carmona, explaining her choices and the impact of the equipment in a testimonial. The film "Viva La Vida," directed by Han Yan and starring Peng Yuchang and Teresa Li, gained popularity and acclaim for its heartwarming and realistic portrayal of love and courage.
