Anima Studios

ANIMA Studios, also known as Anima and formerly known as Globe Studios, is a privately owned company headquartered in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. Founded in 2016, the company specializes in content rights. The studio operates as an independent film, television, and multimedia entertainment studio. Originally established as the content development arm of the telecommunications conglomerate Globe Telecom, it underwent corporate restructuring in January 2022 and now functions as a specialized entertainment division under Kroma Entertainment Inc., backed by the Globe Telecom Group Retirement Fund. Under the executive leadership of veteran film producer Bianca Balbuena, the studio focuses on youth-oriented, genre-bending, and progressive narratives. It maintains an intellectual property repository that bridges mainstream commercial appeal with critical international festival acclaim. Its catalog includes Erik Matti’s Venice Film Festival-awarded crime-thriller series On the Job, the Sundance Special Jury Award-winning feature Leonor Will Never Die, the historical epic Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, the romantic drama Hintayan ng Langit, the youth web series Gaya sa Pelikula (Like in the Movies), and the Netflix original thriller Dead Kids, which was the first Filipino Netflix Original film.
