AOPEN, a publicly owned Taiwanese company founded in 1996, manufactures and supplies digital signage and professional display solutions. A subsidiary of Acer Group, AOPEN employs approximately 190 people and reported revenues of less than $250 million in 2023. Its headquarters are located in Taiwan.
On June 24, 2025, Aopen announced plans to showcase the AOPEN Chromebox OPS (BP5130) at ISTE Live 25. Later, on August 27, 2025, Aopen received recognition from the Taiwan Institute of Directors, earning titles of Mid-Cap Potential Enterprise and Top 10 Growth Company. Also in August 2025, as part of Acer Day 2025, Acer introduced new desktop and portable monitors, and a smart portable projector from its Aopen sub-brand. These included the EK1 monitor series, the PM161QT portable touchscreen monitor, and the Fire Legend QF23s smart portable projector. Aopen also released the DEX5145, a fanless mini PC designed for space-constrained environments, powered by Intel's 14th Gen Meteor Lake-U processor.
Aopen's customers primarily consist of museums, Historical Sites, and Zoos, telecoms services and spectator Sports companies. Examples of Aopen's customers include KPN, FC Barcelona and Rijksmuseum. Aopen has commercial and technical partners like Visual Display and Dooha Media.
