ARSAT, a state-owned Argentine company founded in 2006, provides telecommunications services. Employing approximately 610 people, the company utilizes a network of terrestrial, aerial, and space-based infrastructure to deliver connectivity and distribution services across Argentina.
On 21st February 2023, Arsat launched the federal program Mi Pueblo Conectado, which aims to provide internet service to 377 Argentinian localities that currently lack any connection. This initiative seeks to enhance digital inclusion in the country. In related news, Arsat signed an agreement with Orbith to include IP transit services on the Federal Fiber Optic Network (REFEFO) and Arsat's Data Center. Additionally, the agreement encompasses ground station services on the Ka-band satellite capacity of the SES-17 satellite. Furthermore, Arsat and the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) held a meeting, attended by representatives from both organizations, to discuss potential collaborations. Lastly, Arsat signed its first contract with MDA, a world leader in providing antennas for various satellite markets.
