Arsat, a state-owned company headquartered in Argentina, was founded in 2006 and employs approximately 610 individuals. The company specializes in connectivity and distribution services, providing telecommunications services through a combination of terrestrial, aerial, and space infrastructures.
On 21st February 2023, Arsat launched the federal program Mi Pueblo Conectado, which aims to provide internet service to 377 Argentinian localities that currently lack any connection. This initiative seeks to enhance digital inclusion in the country. In related news, Arsat signed an agreement with Orbith to include IP transit services on the Federal Fiber Optic Network (REFEFO) and Arsat's Data Center. Additionally, the agreement encompasses ground station services on the Ka-band satellite capacity of the SES-17 satellite. Furthermore, Arsat and the China Great Wall Industry Corporation (CGWIC) held a meeting, attended by representatives from both organizations, to discuss potential collaborations. Lastly, Arsat signed its first contract with MDA, a world leader in providing antennas for various satellite markets.
