On March 13, 2026, Rome's city council approved the "technical and economic feasibility study" for AS Roma's new stadium project, which is slated to begin construction in 2027. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri confirmed a strong majority in favor, with 39 of 44 city councillors agreeing to the plan for the stadium in the Pietralata neighborhood.
