Asian News International (ANI) deployed Grass Valley AMPP and Framelight X on September 29, 2026, to modernize ingest media management and content distribution across its news operations, creating a centralized workflow for capturing live feeds and making video quickly available to editorial and distribution teams. Grass Valley plans to feature these tools at Broadcast India 2026 in October. This development follows the Delhi High Court's refusal on September 16 to issue an ex-parte order immediately restraining OpenAI from scraping ANI's content to train ChatGPT and generate responses, stating the company must first be heard. Previously, on September 15, the Delhi High Court sought OpenAI's response to an appeal filed by ANI, which challenged an earlier order that refused to temporarily stop OpenAI from using ANI's copyrighted news content. The court has considered this legal challenge, highlighted as India's first major AI copyright case, raising questions about whether AI companies can train models on copyrighted content without permission, a central legal question in the evolving landscape of AI and information distribution since at least September 12.
