German Fibre Network Providers Create Open Access Alliance for High-Speed Internet
The German fiber-optic network providers, namely Deutsche GigaNetz, DNS:NET, Eurofiber Netz, and Infrafibre Germany— which operates the companies Leonet and BBV Deutschland—have agreed to form a new Open Access Network Alliance. The four fiber-optic network providers have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to create the alliance and market internet and telephony services with Gigabit speeds on their respective fiber-optic networks.

Leonet takes over Miltenberg fibre project from BVV Deutschland
German regional operator Leonet has taken over the project to expand fibre-optic networks in the district of Miltenberg from BBV Deutschland. Leonet will expands the network in the Odenwald alliance local councils of Amorbach, Eichenbuehl, Kirchzell, Kleinheubach, Laudenbach, Neunkirchen, Ruedenau, Schneeberg and Weilbach. Leonet is a subsidiary of BBV Deutschland and both companies are part of the Infrafibre Germany group, working together to expand broadband in rural areas, especially in southern Germany.
