Beyond International is a privately owned Australian content production and distribution group, formerly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:BYI) and now a subsidiary of Banijay. Founded in 1984, the company employs approximately 100 people and generated less than $100 million in revenue in 2022. Its operations span multiple international locations including Dublin, London, Manchester, Sydney, and Los Angeles. The company's structure includes five wholly owned production companies, four joint venture production entities, and an international distribution arm, focusing on broadcast professional services.
Beyond International's documentary, "John Farnham: Finding The Voice", won the 2024 AACTA Award for Best Documentary on January 11, 2024. The production division of the Beyond group and its current production subsidiaries were bought back by Mikael Borglund's personal holding BYI Holdings Pty Limited on the same day. Beyond Entertainment, part of Banijay, announced a new partnership with Custom Nuts to co-produce animated series for the international market, with the first three projects launching at Kidscreen in January 2024. On Wednesday, Banijay signed a Scheme Implementation Deed to acquire Beyond International Limited, the production company behind shows such as "Mythbusters", "Back in the Groove", and "Troppo".
