The Big Sky Conference is a collegiate athletic conference that operates in the western United States. It is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and competes in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The conference was founded in 1963 and is headquartered in Ogden, Utah. The Big Sky Conference currently consists of nine member institutions: Eastern Washington University, Idaho State University, University of Montana, Montana State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Northern Colorado, Portland State University, California State University, Sacramento, and Weber State University. Northern Colorado joined the conference in 2006, making it the newest member. The conference sponsors 16 sports, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and track and field.
