Founded in 1980, the multinational news channel and website employs approximately 6,210 individuals, specializing in broadcast media production and distribution. Its global reach is extended through subsidiaries including CNN Brasil, CNN Newsource, CNN Chile, CNN Indonesia, CNN en Espanol, and CNN Philippines.
CNN Greece, launched in 2015 by DPG Digital Media Group through a strategic cooperation with CNN International, extended its partnership on March 17, marking ten years of operation as a digital news media outlet offering Greek content with an international perspective. On March 16, CNN International appointed Sylvie Zhuang as Senior China Reporter, based in its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong, tasking her with providing on-the-ground understanding of China for international audiences. This followed Türkiye’s Communications Directorate condemning CNN International on March 6 for broadcasting a "misleading" map that misrepresents regions inhabited by Kurds, calling its editorial framing "seriously concerning." Earlier, on January 28, CNN International Commercial expanded its long-term partnership with Hyundai Motor Company for a new global campaign, which includes exclusive sponsorship of the new CNN Originals Series "K-Everything," to connect Hyundai Motor with CNN's worldwide audience.
