Canal N is a privately owned Peruvian pay television news channel established in 1999. It was founded as a joint venture between the media company El Comercio and the telecommunications firm Telefónica. The company's primary offering is its news channel service.
Canal N reported on the death of a 41-year-old American tourist from Alabama on June 2nd. The tourist reportedly died in Santa María de Ojeal, Loreto region of the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest, after consuming hallucinogenic herbal tea during an ayahuasca session.
