Central Michigan University's Board of Trustees recently approved funding for the construction phase of a new medical education facility in Saginaw, clearing the way for a groundbreaking this fall. The MyMichigan Health CMU Medical Education Building is expected to open in 2028. Previously, on June 25, the Board approved two resolutions for the medical school, which will be part of the Saginaw Medical Diamond, officially naming the new facility the MyMichigan Health CMU Medical Education Building. This action formally acknowledged MyMichigan Health's support, which included a $40 million donation for the project. Earlier, on June 22, the Board unanimously adopted a $460.3 million operating budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, which incorporates cost reductions, reallocations, and strategic investments in academic and student success programs.
