On September 29, 2026, Central Michigan University announced a partnership with Black Women in Artificial Intelligence, founded by two-time CMU graduate Angle Bush, to strengthen artificial intelligence education and access at the university and in the local community. On the same day, CMU also partnered with Lansing Promise, expanding college opportunities for eligible Lansing School District students to pursue a bachelor’s degree through the Lansing Promise Scholarship Program. Previously, on September 22, the university broke ground on the new MyMichigan Health CMU Medical Education Building in Saginaw. The $180 million facility will become the new home for its Covenant HealthCare College of Medicine at Central Michigan University, serving all medical students starting in Fall 2028.
