News Summary:

On February 17, 2026, COCESNA signed two contracts with Thales to modernize its Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS), Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) system, and navigation aids infrastructure. This initiative will enhance critical aviation systems across six Central American countries: Belize, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua. Previously, on January 22, 2026, COCESNA initiated remodeling works for its offices at the La Mesa Substation in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, as part of a strategy to improve conditions for its collaborators. This follows the inauguration on January 9, 2026, by COCESNA and the Member State of Guatemala, of X-ray inspection systems at the international airports of La Aurora (AILA) and Mundo Maya (AIMM). This project aims to strengthen airport security and operational safety, aligning with international civil aviation standards.
