Colorado State University (CSU) is a state-owned public land-grant research university located in Fort Collins, Colorado. Established in 1870 as the Colorado Agricultural College, it adopted its current name in 1957. As the flagship institution of the Colorado State University System, CSU is classified as an R1 university, signifying very high research activity. The university currently employs approximately 16,480 people.
