Swedish regulator clears Tele2 number portability practices
Swedish telecoms regulator PTS said it has found that Tele2 Sweden's new procedures for number porting do not violate the requirements of the Electronic Communications Act (LEK), even though the operator is no longer applying established industry practice. For this reason, the watchdog is concluding its review without taking any action. It said that despite changes to Tele2's routines, number porting still takes place as soon as possible on the date agreed by the customer and new operator.

Telenor Sweden and Tele2 Sweden said their joint mobile network company Net4Mobility has extended 5G coverage from 25 percent of the country's territory to 90 percent, meaning it now reaches 99.9 percent of the Swedish population. The expansion has been done by activating the low-frequency 700 MHz band, whose long reach works well in forests and mountain areas, in the archipelagoes, and indoors in urban environments.
