CBRu, also known as Brazilian Rugby Union, is a state-owned organization headquartered in Brazil. Founded in 2010, the company, which reformed its statutes in that year from the Brazilian Rugby Association (ABR) to implement a professional management model based on corporate governance, employs approximately 170 individuals and reported $12.4M in revenue as of 2023. Functioning as the national governing body for rugby in Brazil, its main products include sports tickets, merchandise, and sponsorships. The organization promotes the formation of Brazil's national rugby teams across both Sevens and XV modalities, and it organizes nationwide club competitions such as Super 8, Taça Tupi, and the Rugby Sevens Circuit. Furthermore, CBRu leads professional development for refereeing and technical and physical preparation, while also promoting the sport by encouraging rugby practice in schools and social projects. With Brazil designated a strategic priority for investment by World Rugby, CBRu's objectives include developing national teams, organizing competitions, and promoting the sport across the country.
