Congreso de la Republica de Guatemala, also known as Congress of the Republic of Guatemala, is a state-owned entity headquartered at the historic Legislative Palace in Zone 1 of Guatemala City. Founded in 1945, the organization employs approximately 2,000 individuals and specializes in broadcast television and radio, functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer. It serves as the unicameral national legislature of Guatemala, exercising the primary legislative power of the state. As an independent branch of government alongside the Executive and Judicial organs, it is composed of 160 deputies who are elected concurrently via universal suffrage to serve fixed four-year terms under a closed party-list proportional representation system, representing both a nationwide electoral district and 22 localized departmental constituencies.
