Constl, a carrier-neutral infrastructure provider and subsidiary of Space World Group, completed a 1.6 Tbps channel transmission over its live national long-distance (NLD) network in India on October 1, 2026. This achievement utilized Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) technology on a live production network, aiming to support the rapidly evolving demands of India’s digital economy. Previously, on September 29, 2026, Constl announced the successful completion of this 1.6 Tbps optical transmission, specifically over the Mumbai - Pune corridor. This milestone established Constl as the first in India to achieve a 1.6 Tbps channel over an NLD network, building on an earlier 1 Tbps transmission achievement with Ciena in 2025.
