Corona Extra, a publicly owned company headquartered in Mexico, was founded in 1925. The company produces a Mexican brand of beer by Grupo Modelo, which is exported to markets globally. Constellation Brands serves as the exclusive licensee and sole importer of Corona in the fifty states of the United States, Washington, D.C., and Guam. Belgian company AB InBev owns the beer in all other worldwide markets and solely brews it for all markets, including the US. Additionally, Corona is brewed in China for the Australasia market.
