Crypton, a privately owned company headquartered in Ukraine, was founded in 1992 and employs approximately 20 individuals. The company specializes in content security, offering development and production of scrambling systems for TV signals and related equipment. It also develops solutions for the organization of pay TV, including IPTV broadcasting, cable broadcasting, and hybrid (IPTV + cable) TV broadcasting. Crypton produces professional equipment for digital broadcast TV across cable, ether, and satellite networks. Additionally, it manufactures equipment for organizing interactive television services such as Video-on-Demand (VoD), Multiscreen, TV over IP (TVoIP), Time Shifted TV, and Catch-up TV.
On March 26, 2024, Crypton partnered with pixiv, a communications platform, to sell exclusive merchandise featuring new illustrations outside Japan. Also on March 26, 2024, Launcher Solutions announced a strategic partnership with Crypton to enhance digital lending solutions. Separately, a new video game crossover featuring Crypton's Vocaloid idol Hatsune Miku was released on an unspecified date, allowing players to use the character in Crypt of the NecroDancer for a $2 DLC fee on PC and PS4.
